We have the champion for the NBA 2K Players Tournament, as Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker defeated fellow teammate DeAndre Ayton in the best-of-three final round. Both of them previously won against Los Angeles Clippers players Montrezl Harrell and Patrick Beverley in the semi-final.

The entire tournament was played on the Xbox One. As the winner of the NBA 2K Players Tournament, Booker received US$100,000 to donate to a charity of his choice to support COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic relief efforts. He already has plans to split his winnings between two different charities; #FirstRespondersFirst and Arizona Food Bank Network.

In a statement to NBA, the 23-year-old pro Basketball player Booker said:

“I played a lot growing up.

It’s all about timing and eye coordination.

Anyone who thinks they can play 2K, let’s get it.

I said in the beginning that it was going to be Deandre and I in the championship – and that’s the way it ended up.”

The three-day, 16-player esports tournament took place after the last official NBA games were played on 11 March 2020, which was the day that Utah Jazz player Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19.
