Resident Evil 3 Remake Sales Surpass Two Million In First Five Days
By Alleef Ashaari|April 13, 2020|0 Comment
The Resident Evil 3 Remake launched earlier this month on 3 April 2020, and while it wasn’t as good as its predecessor (2019’s Resident Evil 2 Remake), it’s still a pretty decent game in its own right.
Capcom has revealed that the sales for Resident Evil 3 Remake have managed to exceed a whopping two million copies only five days after launch.
What makes the milestone even more impressive is that digital versions of the game account for almost 50 percent of total sales, which Capcom attributes to its “digital sales strategy”. This “strategy” included the pre-launch release of the Raccoon City Demo for Resident Evil 3 Remake and an open beta test for Resident Evil Resistance (which was actually delayed).
Capcom has also announced that the sales for Resident Evil 2 Remake have managed to reach 6.5 million units. For context, this game was only released a little bit more than a year ago in January 2019. All of this bodes well for the future of the Resident Evil franchise.
Even so, do we really need a Resident Evil 4 Remake (which is reportedly in the works)? Well, fans and gamers alike will keep debating that rumour until Capcom eventually confirms or denies it, and then continue on until the end of time.
