Creative Director Reveals First Look At Settlements In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Ubisoft previously revealed that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will feature settlements that players can develop and grow in the game. Creative director Ashraf Ismail gave us our first look at what this settlement would look like on his personal Twitter account.

According to Ismail, the image of the settlement is based in England, and that it’s an actual screenshot from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which is impressive considering how beautiful it looks visually.

In a statement to IGN, Ismail said:

“The settlement is a key feature of the game.

It’s quite grand in what we’re trying to achieve with it.

We want you to feel that this is your home, that you’re building, that a lot of what you’re doing in the game world is, at the end of the day, going to feed into the settlement so that it can grow, it can flourish.

We have a ton of buildings that people can build.

Each building comes with its own gameplay purpose.”

These buildings include blacksmith, barracks, and tattoo parlours, amongst others. It will be interesting to see to what extent players can develop their settlements, as well as how heavily it will impact gameplay.

In other related news, it’s been revealed that three composers will be making the music for the upcoming game, including original Assassin’s Creed composer Jesper Kyd and Nordic band Wardruna frontman Einar Selvik.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla launches sometime at the end of 2020 during the Holiday Season for the PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.
