This Meme Has Everyone Redrawing Sailor Moon In Different Anime & Video Game Styles
Sailor Moon is one of the most famous anime/manga franchises in history, and there will be a new movie from Studio Deen and Toei Animation in 2020 titled Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie. It will adapt the first half of the Dream story arc in the manga, but what’s taking the whole Internet by storm is another thing entirely.

A new meme with the hashtag #sailormoonredraw has spawned on Twitter. It entails artists creating and uploading their own take on Sailor Moon, which was sparked by Japanese artist Ikuko Itoh‘s drawing of the character.
Itoh is a character designer and animation director best known for working on various Sailor Moon anime in the 90s and creating the Princess Tutu anime.
