Henry Cavill Is Now An Easter Egg Character In A Total War Game

We’ve already established that actor Henry Cavill of Superman and The Witcher fame is actually a pretty avid gamer and a geek in real life. He’s not only played The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt multiple times but also plays a lot of Total War, specifically the Warhammer ones.

How awesome is it then that Henry Cavill is now an easter egg character in Total War: Warhammer 2?

According to PCGamesN, the actor is now forever immortalised as a Loremaster of Hoeth literally named ‘Cavill’ in the new The Warden and The Paunch DLC for Total War: Warhammer 2.

What takes the cake is that this Cavill character has a unique trait called White Wolf, granting +3 untainted to the local province. That reference is clearly Creative Assembly’s nod towards Henry Cavill’s role as a particular monster slayer in a Netflix series.

Speaking with PCGamesN, Total War: Warhammer 2 game director Richard Aldridge said:

“For me I love nothing more than bringing the world of Warhammer to life, and like many of our fans I get a buzz out of playing with a new character or painting one of my minis at home.

“So when when I saw a certain Mr Cavill mentioned that he enjoys nothing more than firing up Total War: Warhammer or painting a few models in his spare time, I thought it would be fun to somehow inject him into the game, like we have with a number of developers over the years.

You might even spot me.

With the Warden and the Paunch coming up, it felt like a good time to include Henry, and what better way than having a mighty Loremaster of Hoeth by your side with a few personal special traits to play with when starting a campaign as Eltharion.”

Total War: Warhammer 2 The Warden and The Paunch DLC launches today on 21 May 2020. In the meantime, check out the trailer below.
