Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Will Run At 4K & 30 FPS On Xbox Series X

Ubisoft recently revealed Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the latest entry in the long-running franchise. However, their recent gameplay reveal didn’t show much actual gameplay, which disappointed many fans. Thanks to a clarification from Ubisoft, we now know more about how the game will run on next-gen consoles.

In a statement to the Portuguese brand of Eurogamer, Ubisoft confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will run at least 30 FPS on the Xbox Series X, though it will feature “faster loading times” and “improved graphics” at 4K resolution.

This might disappoint fans even further, but the truth is that it’s pretty difficult for even the more powerful PCs out there to run the latest Assassin’s Creed titles like 2018’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey at 60 FPS.

The full statement reads:

Ubisoft has always been committed to exploring new technologies, taking advantage of the capabilities of new consoles to deliver the most immersive experience possible, which is why we are excited to be collaborating with Microsoft to bring Assassin’s Creed Valhalla to the Xbox Series X.

Currently, we can guarantee that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will run at least 30 FPS.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will benefit from faster loading times, allowing players to immerse themselves in history and the world without friction.

Finally, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will benefit from improved graphics made possible by the Xbox Series X, and we can’t wait to see the beautiful world we’re creating in stunning 4K resolution.

We will have a lot more to show you about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in the near future, so stay tuned for more information soon.

It’s ultimately better to have a stable framerate, even if it’s just 30 FPS. It is likely that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will support 60 FPS on next-gen consoles, but probably not at the same time as 4K resolution. It might be potentially possible for the game to run at 60 FPS at a lower 1080p graphics setting.

We’ll only know more as we get closer to launch, when Assassin’s Creed Valhalla launches sometime at the end of 2020 during the Holiday Season for the PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.

In other related news, it’s been revealed that three composers will be making the music for the upcoming game, including original Assassin’s Creed composer Jesper Kyd and Nordic band Wardruna frontman Einar Selvik.
