Bloodstained Gets Randomizer Mode & A Playable Zangetsu
By Jonathan ToyadVerified|May 5, 2020|0 Comment
Last year’s Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a nice ode to Metroidvania titles, though not a game that revolutionizes the genre. Still, we had fun with it. And now we get to replay it again with this new update.
The game will be getting a randomizer mode that tweaks a handful of aspects of the main game. Working as a replacement to the cancelled roguelike mode, the randomizer controls eight parameters of a playthrough. These include reshuffled save rooms, key items, shards, and shops. Three end goals can be selected as the game’s win state so you have different objectives to consider.
The DLC will also bring in a new playable character: Zangetsu. Previously he was part of the game’s story and also the protagonist for the 8-bit spin-off Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon. He has sword and magic attacks, ergo he has a straightforward playstyle that forgoes the need for loot.
The free update will be available on 7th May.
