Razer Announces Inaugural SEA Invitational 2020 Featuring PUBG Mobile, Dota 2 & Mobile Legends

In partnership with Tier One Entertainment, Razer has announced the Southeast Asian (SEA) Invitational 2020 esports tournament, which will feature PUBG Mobile, Dota 2, and Mobile Legends. It aims to prepare the region’s esports athletes and federations for next year’s 2021 SEA Games in Vietnam.

The SEA Invitational 2020 will kick off on 22 June 2020, and conclude with the grand finals from 3 to 5 July 2020. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the esports tournament will follow a new and unique online tournament format, the details of which have yet to be revealed.

Participating countries include Malaysia, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. The matches will be streamed live on the official Razer YouTube, Facebook and Twitch accounts.

The tournament will only be open to esports athletes who have officially signed up with their respective country’s esports federation, as it will be the federations who will select who the participants will be via their own qualifiers. More information will be updated on the official website in the near future.

Razer Global Esports Director David Tse said:

“The SEA Games 2019 was a new adventure for all of us in the region, with Razer and the federations working in tandem to bring the dreams of many budding esports athletes to life.

We hope to extend this dream to many more talented individuals within the region through the SEA Invitational, and hope the athletes can utilize this as preparation to hone their talents and acclimatize to a structure and format similar to SEA Games.”
