SDCC 2020 Teases Digital Comic-Con At Home Replacement Event
By Alleef Ashaari|May 11, 2020|0 Comment
Last month, SDCC 2020 organizers announced that this year’s iteration of the annual event has been cancelled, much to the detriment of fans around the world. However, a new light is shining through the darkness, as it seems like it might not be completely cancelled after all.
During the weekend, the official San Diego Comic-Con Twitter page shared a promotional video promising viewers something teased as “Comic-Con at Home”, describing it as featuring “free parking, comfy chairs, personalized snacks, no lines, pets welcome and badges for all.”
Accompanying the video is a caption that simply reads, “See you this summer! #ComicConAtHome.”

However, the SDCC organizers have yet to reveal any details about this mysterious Comic-Con At Home event. A virtual version of the biggest geek event in the world is better than nothing or having to wait for another entire year. At the time of writing, it remains unclear what that the digital event will be like, or even if it’s taking place on the previously scheduled SDCC 2020 dates of 23 to 26 July 2020.
Previously, the organizers already confirmed that the next SDCC will be next year’s SDCC 2021 from 22 to 25 July 2021. Most major pop culture events in 2020 have also been cancelled, with the sole exception of Disney’s Star Wars Celebration 2020, which is currently still scheduled to go on in August 2020.
