The National Esports Federation Of The Phillippines Outlines Its Future Plans
By Alleef AshaariVerified|May 5, 2020|0 Comment
The National Electronic Sports Federation Of The Phillippines (NESFP) recently began operating in last year’s 2019 SEA Games, with nine countries in the region competing in the Olympic-sanctioned medal tally esports events. With over a decade of experience in esports and accomplished athletes, the federation has outlined its plans for the future going forward.
The area of focus for the NESFP will be to carry the current momentum and organize more fully-federated events in the Southeast Asian and Asia Pacific regions, while also developing leading Olympic athletes from the grassroots level to prepare them for international events.
Ramon M. Suzara is the president of the NESFP, with Alvin M. Juban as the secretary-general. According to the federation, popular esports titles in the Phillippines so far include Dota 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Starcraft II, Arena of Valor, Tekken 7, Hearthstone, NBA 2K20, and League of Legends.
It remains to be seen if the AESF will add the NESFP into their ranks of full member associations in the near future, especially considering there is no representation from several countries in the list as of now, including the Philippines and Malaysia.
