Here’s How Gaming Companies Are Responding To The Protests
By Alleef Ashaari|June 2, 2020|0 Comment
The world was recently shocked by the tragic death of George Floyd by police officer Derek Chauvin in Minneapolis, Minnesota on 25 May 2020. Since then, citizens in the US and in other countries worldwide have been protesting against police brutality and racism, both in the streets and online.
Several companies, especially those in the gaming and entertainment-related industry, have responded to the protests, voicing their support for the #BlackLivesMatter movement. However, some companies have been done great in this regard, while others, not really (we’re looking at you, Detroit Become Human developer Quantic Dream).
It’s also worth pointing out that while big companies like Sony’s PlayStation and Microsoft’s Xbox have responded to this issue, the big elephant in the room is Nintendo, who has remained quiet on the matter at hand.
Check out their responses below:

Evo supports #BlackLivesMatter and the recent protests fighting against the police brutality that disproportionately affects Black Americans. To support the movement we are donating $7,500 each to @NAACP_LDF and @VisitLakeStreet

If you want to help do your part, you should check out the official Black Lives Matters site to donate internationally, sign petitions, and sort out more resources to share the knowledge on anti-racism.
