Apex Legends’ Next Move May Make Or Break The Game
By Alleef Ashaari|June 18, 2020|0 Comment
Apex Legends could be getting crossplay soon, according to a new rumour that the feature might be announced for Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale game during EA Play 2020 tomorrow at 7am GMT+8 on 19 June 2020. This year’s online showcase event was pushed back one week from its original scheduled date of 12 June 2020 in the wake of the #BlackLivesMatter protests.
One of the biggest rumours is that Apex Legends might finally be getting cross-platform support, comes courtesy of VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb. In his article, he stated that a crossplay announcement for the game now would give it time to build a stronger player base to support a launch on the PS5 and Xbox Series X later this year.
During EA Play, Respawn also might finally announce a Nintendo Switch version, alongside possible PS5 and Xbox Series X announcements. It would certainly boost the battle royale game back to the top of the charts.
Be sure to tune in to EA Play Live this Thursday, June 18, at 4PM PT to unearth what’s next for Apex Legends. We’ll see you there. 😉😉

However, neither EA nor developer Respawn Entertainment have confirmed crossplay as of yet. That said, a crossplay announcement now would be a great way to revitalize the game, which has slumped into stagnancy after its incredible start in 2019. With so many similar games now vying for attention like Riot Games’ Valorant taking the world by storm, Apex Legends will need every edge it can get to rise again.
