Legendary Sci-Fi & Fantasy Actor Ian Holm Dies At 88

We have lost yet another acting legend in 2020.

Sir Ian Holm has died in London aged 88, according to his agent (via Guardian).

“It is with great sadness that the actor Sir Ian Holm CBE passed away this morning at the age of 88. He died peacefully in hospital, with his family and carer. Charming, kind and ferociously talented, we will miss him hugely.”

Older movie buffs will remember him as maverick athletics coach Sam Mussabini in Chariots of Fire, but pop culture fans remember him as Ash in Alien, Father Cornelius in The Fifth Element, and as Bilbo Baggins in the blockbuster fantasy flick The Lord of The Rings.

Rest in peace, Ian Holm. You will be missed. Here are the highlights of his rich acting career.
