The PC Version Of FIFA 21 Will Be Last-Gen
Last week’s FIFA 21 announcement has stoked the excitement of many football fans, especially if they want a next-gen version of it for PS5 and Xbox Series X. For those who want all those bells and whistles for the PC version a few months before, well, you may want to sit down.
The PC version of FIFA 21 will be based on the PS4 and Xbox One version of the game according to the official FIFA 21 FAQ on EA’s page.
Here’s the official line:
“FIFA 21 on PC will be the same version as released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We’ll have more information on it in the coming weeks.”
The next-gen features that will be omitted from the PC version include deferred lighting and rendering, “ultra-realistic football experiences and player fidelity”, improved player animation, “stats-driven player movement”, and DualSense 5 haptic feedback capabilities. While it’s understandable that the latter is not available –PS5 will only be out Holiday 2020– it’s rather disappointing that all these new graphical features won’t be available for PC players with high-end rigs to exploit. Let’s hope this is just a typo on EA’s part.
