Min Min From Arms Will Be Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Next New Character

Fighting game fans are in for a treat, as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be getting a new character in its roster. Unfortunately, it’s not someone you may be clamouring for.

Instead of characters like Travis Touchdown, you’re getting that Asian caricature from Nintendo’s other fighting game Arms. That’s right: Min Min will be in the game later this month.

Basically, Min Min is your footsie/zoning archetype but with a twist: she can control how her arms bends when she launches her fists; the A and B buttons are each bound to a separate arm. She’s effective against heavier fighters like Bowser and Donkey Kong, but terrible against lighter fighters and combatants who excel in the air. Her Final Smash makes her call her rivals to deliver an ultimate beatdown.

If you’re interested in playing as Arms’ Ramen Girl, you can either buy the US$29.99 Fighters Pass Vol. 2 to get her and upcoming fighters, or the US$5.99 standalone Min Min Challenger Pack. Buying either of these will net you 18 tracks from the Arms OST into your SSBU collection, as well as the Spring Stadium stage.

As a bonus, you can also get new Mii Fighters costumes for US$0.75: Arms’ Ninjara, Fallout’s Vault Boy, Tekken’s Heihachi, and Splatoon’s Callie and Marie.

All this will be out 29th June. That’s good for SSBU fans who want more out of their game, but we’re hoping that the better stuff will be out later in 2020.
