We’re Getting A Pokémon MOBA Game From Arena Of Valor Devs & Tencent

The Pokémon Presents live stream earlier today revealed a brand new game to the franchise. Pokémon Unite is a MOBA game by Tencent’s TiMi Studios, the same developer behind popular mobile MOBA Arena Of Valor and Call Of Duty Mobile.

Pokemon Unite 1

Pokémon Unite will feature 5v5 team battles, where players score points by conquering the opponent’s goalposts. As they rack up experience, the Pokémon can level up, evolve them and unlock new moves, including unique Unite Moves which are essentially the game’s equivalent of Ultimate moves like the ones seen in other MOBAs like Dota 2 and League Of Legends.

This is what the map looks like.

It will be free-to-start (basically free-to-play with microtransactions) when it launches for Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms (Android and iOS) with support for cross-platform play. However, no release date was announced during the presentation.

As seen in the presentation, the list of playable Pokémon in Pokémon Unite so far includes Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Machop, Snorlax, Haunter, Talonflame, Clefairy and more.
