EA Donates US$1 Million To Black Community Charities

Many game publishers are making their stances heard during the Black Lives Matter protests in the US of A. Some, like EA, are donating multiple charities and outreach endeavours to support the Black community, showing that they’re making a change outside their homestead.

First up, EA is donating US$1 million to organizations dedicated to the fight for racial justice in the US. The company will also double match any funds that people are donating to local organisations via the YourCause program during the month of June.

EA is also launching a new program to give everyone in its company an additional paid day each year to apply to volunteer work in their communities. Furthermore on 9th June, EA is holding a Community Conversation open to the entire company to hear about its employees’ thoughts and issues about what’s been happening the past few days. Check out the full spiel by CEO/Human Fistbump Andrew Wilson on this link.

Personally, EA is doing its best to play the good guy role here and we should commend them for that. Despite the many anti-consumerism things and other nonsense they’ve pulled off in the past (like the screencap below), they’re trying.
