Studio Ghibli will be adapting Diana Wynne Jones’ novel Earwig and the Witch in CGI form, calling it Aya and the Witch.
Here’s your first look at it (via Comic Natalie). Keep in mind that the show won’t be playing in Japanese theatres, but will air on NHK in Japan this Winter.
Hayao Miyazaki will be overseeing the adaptation’s planning, while his son Goro Miyazaki will be directing. Toshio Suzuki is producing.
This isn’t the first time Studio Ghibli worked on a CG anime. Their first effort is a 14-minute short called Boro the Caterpillar.
