We all know that Cyberpunk 2077 is a mature game for adults, with nudity and violence galore. However, that won’t be the case for the Japanese version of the game, as CD Projekt Red has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be heavily censored in Japan.
According to Australian publication Press Start, there will be several changes made to the Japanese version of Cyberpunk 2077, including the addition of underwear to naked male/female characters, revised sexually explicit content, selective revision of severing human body/exposed guts, and revision/removal of billboard/graffiti shaped as genitals.
These changes were made to appease the requirements of the Japanese rating agency CERO. While Cyberpunk 2077 will be censored in Japan, the developer reassures that no actual event or content has been cut from the game. It remains to be seen if other countries will also be receiving this edited version of the game.
Cyberpunk 2077 is slated to release for the PS4, Xbox One and PC on 19 November 2020. In the meantime, head on over here for everything you need to know about Cyberpunk 2077 to date.
