Monster Hunter Movie Delayed To Next Year

Bad news, Capcom game-to-film adaptation fans and Monster Hunter aficionados. The Monster Hunter movie is being pushed back to next year.

Sony Pictures announces that this fantasy film starring Milla Jovovich and Tony Jaa will be pushed back from 4th September 2020 to 23rd April 2021. The production company didn’t state why, but odds are it’s involving COVID-19 since it’s also delaying other new films slated for 2020.

To recap, Monster Hunter is directed by Paul W.S. Anderson who also helmed the many Resident Evil movies. The plot is about a soldier group’s leader Natalie Artimis (Jovovich) who gets transported into the world of Monster Hunter. There, she fights monsters and learns how to make big swords and armour with the help of the native Hunter (Jaa). Ron Perlman also stars as the Hunter’s boss. Fans who are worried about this adaptation are assured that the game’s signature weapons, armour, and monsters will be in the film.
