The Devolver Digital Direct 2020 live stream took place earlier today, featuring release date announcements and new game reveals, as well as the release of demos for Carrion, Disc Room, and more unannounced games.
They’ve always been known for doing crazy and ‘bloody’ antics; this year’s non-E3 event was the same, even featuring guests like Shuhei Yoshida, Phil Spencer, Geoff Keighley, and more. Check out the games below:
Shadow Warrior 3
The first official gameplay trailer for Flying Wild Hog’s Shadow Warrior 3 is finally here. It’s looking like more of the offbeat first-person shooter series upgraded to the next level with a seamless blend of fast-paced gunplay, razor-sharp melee combat, and a spectacular free-running movement system.
The sequel to 2016’s Shadow Warrior 2 will introduce a grappling hook, which will add more verticality and versatility to the gameplay.
Shadow Warrior 3 is slated to release for PC via Steam sometime in 2021.
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is a multiplayer party game, featuring hordes of contestants together online in a mad dash through round after round of escalating chaos until one victor remains. Players can dive in to a series of ridiculous challenges and wild obstacle courses with masses of other competitors online, all with the hopes of making the cut and advancing to the next round of mayhem.
It is slated to release for the PS4 and PC via Steam on 4 August 2020.
Carrion is a reverse horror game in which you assume the role of an amorphous creature of unknown origins, stalking and consuming those that imprisoned you.
It is slated to release for Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on 23 July 2020, according to developer Phobia Game Studio. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass for Console and PC at launch. A “Sneak Peek” demo is available now on Steam.
Olija is a game about Faraday’s quest, a man shipwrecked then trapped in the mysterious country of Terraphage. Armed with a legendary harpoon, he and other castaways try to leave this hostile country to return to their homelands.
Developed by Skeleton Crew, it is slated to release for the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam sometime in 2020.
Serious Sam 4
The first official gameplay trailer for Croteam’s Serious Sam 4 is finally here.
Humanity is under siege as the full force of Mental’s hordes spread across the world, ravaging what remains of a broken and beaten civilization. The last remaining resistance to the invasion is the Earth Defense Force led by Sam “Serious” Stone and his heavily-armed squad of misfit commandos.
The classic Serious Sam formula is revamped by putting an unstoppable arsenal up against an unimaginable number of enemies that requires players to circle-strafe and backpedal-blast their way out of impossible situations.
It is slated to release for PC via Steam and Google Stadia sometime in August 2020.
Developed by Flying Wild Hog, Devolverland Expo is a first-person “marketing simulator” set within an abandoned convention centre after the annual Devolver Digital game expo was mysteriously cancelled.
Players must break into the convention centre and avoid the advanced security systems to watch and retrieve all the trailers, gameplay demo videos, and other secrets lost in the expo’s cancellation.
It’s sort of like a playable interactive expo version of the Devolver Direct. It is available now on PC via Steam.
You can watch the entire Devolver Direct 2020 stream (about 40+ minutes) on Twitch. Check out some of the guest appearances below:
