[Rumour] Is There Going To Be A New F-Zero From Nintendo?

Don’t toy with our hearts, Big N.

Nintendo may have secured a social media account for its dormant F-Zero super-fast racing game franchise. The protected Twitter handle @FZeroJP was registered back in March 2020. According to sources in ResetEra and VGC, the email and placeholder username is also the same as the placeholder for Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary.

Just keep in mind that it’s normal for companies to register social media handles for their IPs, meaning that this is not indicative of them releasing a new game in the series. Then again, there was this quote from Nintendo director Shigeru Miyamoto about a new F-Zero racing game (via Edge magazine).

“Maybe if we create a new type of controller interface, and we find a controller interface that’s particularly suited for F-Zero, then maybe we’ll do something with it again in the future.”

The Nintendo Switch can provide that thanks to its gyroscope and accelerometer capabilities, so who knows?
