SEA Major 2020 Is Cancelled
By Jonathan ToyadVerified|July 1, 2020|0 Comment
Bad news, fighting game fans in Southeast Asia. The region’s premier fighting game tournament for this year is postponed thanks to the offline esports killer known as COVID-19 coronavirus.
The tournament will instead come back in 2021. The tournament is renowned for hosting the regional portion of Capcom Pro Tour (Street Fighter V), the Tekken World Tour (Tekken 7), and Soulcalibur VI.
Due to the on going pandemic, it is unfortunate to announce that SEA Major 2020 Singapore is postponed.
We value the healthy and safety of the community, fans, and partners and thank them for their support and understanding! We will be back in 2021! pic.twitter.com/XOcZrckV7E

The SEA Major is the next major offline esports tournament that is cancelled for the year, alongside other major tournaments like the offline version of EVO 2020 and The International 2020. As to whether the tournament organization will host an online tournament, that remains to be seen.
In the meantime, do enjoy these SEA Major highlights to pass the time. And also this SEA Major 2018 recap, because we do love our fighting games despite some of the outside factors that surround it.
