Sega Explains What On Earth Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis Is
When the new Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis trailer popped up on the Xbox July showcase, a lot of folks were confused on whether it was an expansion or a brand new game.
Would you believe that it’s technically both? PSO2 New Genesis is a standalone game that works alongside the original PSO2 in terms of cosmetics you can transfer. PSO2 New Genesis is an open-world action-oriented rebirth of an MMO that uses a new graphics engine and a gameplay system that is similar to single-player RPGs like the Elder Scrolls and The Witcher titles. But with more bishies and anime-like foes like the giant Dolls.
Here are the things that you can carry from PSO2 to PSO2 New Genesis.

Long story short: longtime PSO2 fans will not be shortchanged at all. Newbies who want to wait for PSO2 until its 2021 release date can still wait, or just play bits of PSO2 right now if they wish. After all, PSO2 will also get the new graphics overhaul featured on the announcement.
