Snowpiercer Season 2 Teaser Confirms Sean Bean’s Role
By Alleef Ashaari|July 14, 2020|0 Comment
The Snowpiercer TV series ended its first season yesterday with the release of its two final episodes on TNT and Netflix. It was previously revealed that legendary actor Sean Bean (of The Lord Of The Rings’ Boromir and Game Of Thrones’ Eddard Stark fame) would be joining the cast for Season 2, but it is only now that we have finally learnt what his role will be.
However, to answer that question, it will spoil the first season, which is why I’m adding these disclaimers below:
Mr. Wilford, who was previously assumed to have been dead, is still alive, and he will be portrayed by none other than Sean Bean.
The season 1 finale ‘994 Cars Long’ saw the Snowpiercer pursued by another train. This second train, named Big Alice, eventually caught up with the Snowpiercer, forcing it to come to a halt. Alexandra (played by Rowan Blanchard), appears to deliver a message from Mr Wilford, ordering the Snowpiercer passengers to surrender.
Alexandra is shockingly Melanie Cavill’s alive daughter, who was also previously assumed to have been dead.
In the promo, we can hear:
“The people of Snowpiercer will never surrender.” said Andre Layton.
“I won’t give you anything, no matter what you do to me.” said Melanie Cavill.
“I’m back. And I’ve come to take what’s mine.” said Mr. Wilford.
Speaking with TVLine, showrunner Graeme Manson said:
“There were a few characters that in season 1 were a slower ‘cook’ and whose stories are really going to blossom in season 2.
In that category, I’d put Ruth, Bess Till, Roche, and Pike.
These are all characters that have got a lot to give.
“Also, we have the tremendous mystery coming of, ‘Who is Wilford behind the curtain?’
I’m really excited about that brand new element to the show and what life is like on that train – and how does Melanie hopefully get a hand on it, get dragged along?”
Snowpiercer Season 2 still doesn’t have a release date as of now. In the meantime, check out the Season 2 teaser below, or head on over here for our review of Season 1 here.
