More Nazi hunting to come.
Amazon Studios has ordered a second season of its hit conspiracy thriller drama series Hunters. The entire full first season of the series premiered earlier this year in February 2020. Said to be inspired by true events, Hunters Season 1 is set in 1977 New York City, with legendary actor Al Pacino leading a band of vigilantes against the remnants of Nazis in hiding after World War 2.
The cast also includes Josh Radnor of How I Met Your Mother‘s Ted fame and Logan Lerman, who is best known for the movie adaptations of the young adult Percy Jackson books.
In a statement to Deadline, showrunner David Weil said:
“I am beyond grateful to Jen and the Amazon family for their continued extraordinary support of Hunters.
Alongside our magnificent cast, incredible crew, and brilliant writers and producers, I am more eager than ever to share the next chapter of the Hunters saga with the world.”
Hunters turned out to be a great show and almost as outrageously offensive as Amazon’s The Boys. It’s definitely recommended for those who like their humour as dark as they come, though it’s not for the easily-offended as it touches on the horrors of the Holocaust and Nazis.
Slowly but surely, Amazon Prime Video is building up its own worthy slate of exclusives to watch out for. Look out, Netflix and Disney Plus.
