Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access Launch Delayed To “Later”

Bad news, CRPG fans waiting for the second coming in the Baldur’s Gate series. Baldur’s Gate 3 is not launching as an Early Access title in August.

Larian CEO Swen Vincke said in June that the studio can’t release the early version of the game at that time because of COVID-19 slowing down development.

“We’ve been hit like everybody else in the world. Nonetheless, we managed to make a lot of progress, so we think we’re going to make it.”

However, the game will be out “just around the corner” of 2020. The actual date will be revealed on 19th August 1am GMT+8 in the “Panel from Hell” featuring Vincke and his team, as well as Summer Games Festival and Game Awards talking head Geoff Keighley.

You can tune in later this month on Larian’s Twitch channel and the Summer Games Fest channel on YouTube. In the meantime, just watch our vids of Baldur’s Gate 3 below to pass the time.
