Digital BlizzCon Confirmed For Early 2021
Sad that BlizzCon 2020 isn’t happening thanks to COVID-19? No worries, there’s going to be an online BlizzCon due for early next year.
According to a recent Activision-Blizzard second-quarter earnings call, Blizzard president J. Allen Brack confirms that the online plan is a-go.
“We are planning on channelling the spirit of BlizzCon into a virtual event in the early part of next year. We’re really fortunate to have a passionate and engaged community that’s really looking forward to what we’re creating and what we’re working on. And we’re looking forward to sharing what the teams have been working on for that event.”
An online version of BlizzCon is second nature to the company. After all, they’ve been selling virtual tickets of their live shows for quite a while now. Obviously there isn’t more info apart from that confirmation, but we’ll be getting more when 2021 starts. We’re sure to expect news on Diablo IV, Overwatch 2, and another World of Warcraft expansion. Right now, the company has its own little problem with keeping its workforce stable.Â
