We’ll Be Getting Kate Bishop, She-Hulk, And More Heroes In The Upcoming Avengers Game [Update]

Update: a recent datamine from RoboMatters unveiled a long list of new Avenger names. Full list below.

Square Enix’s Marvel’s Avengers is shaping up to be a long-term action-RPG game with new heroes joining the fray post-launch. We already know Hawkeye will be in the game, but what about other cast members and superheroes?

Thanks to some datamining work from Reddit user 6plus4equals52, we will be getting Kate Bishop, Hawkeye’s protege and the highlight of Matt Fraction’s run with Clint Barton,

She-Hulk, Bruce Banner’s irradiated cousin and full-time Marvel lawyer…

…and War Machine, whom you may remember from the Avengers and Iron Man film series.

We’re guessing these characters will be DLC additions post-launch, and may possibly be a way for Crystal Dynamics to reuse certain assets and tweak them up aesthetically and game design-wise. The obvious target being War Machine, who is a “chunkier” Iron Man with a grey colour scheme.

Furthermore, dataminer RoboMatters dug up this list during the weekend PC beta of the game and its executable files. Each of the following names come with the “UnlockPlayableCharacter…” prefix. If you’re a comics fan, you’ll recognize some obscure names.

  • Ant-Man
  • Black Panther
  • Captain Marvel
  • Captain America
  • Doctor Strange
  • Falcon
  • Hawkeye
  • Hulk
  • Hulkbuster
  • Iron-Man
  • Kamala
  • Kate Bishop
  • Mar-Vell
  • Mockingbird
  • Quake
  • Scarlet Witch
  • She-Hulk
  • Thor
  • Vision
  • War Machine
  • Wasp
  • Black Widow
  • Winter Soldier

You heard right: Mockingbird and Quake (non-MCU characters) will be playable Avengers post-launch. Girl power FTW.
