Control Is Coming To Steam & Consoles With Both Its Expansions & A Cheaper Price [Update]

Update: Apparently this “Ultimate Edition” of Control will not allow Xbox One owners to upgrade their version of Control to the Xbox Series X version free-of-charge. We’ve updated this story to reflect this.

It’s been a year since action-adventure darling Control came out for PC. But not for Steam. That’s going to change later this month.

PC gaming fans who want to play this Remedy-made title on Steam will get their chance with Control: Ultimate Edition coming 27th August. This version of Control will also be available for PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox Series X. Unfortunately, there’s no option for Xbox One gamers to upgrade their existing version of Control to the Xbox Series X version for free.

This version of Control will include the base game, the updates that include Expeditions and photo mode, and both the Foundation and AWE expansions. The latter may feature Alan Wake and a possible Remedy Universe crossover, which is all kinds of rad.

If you want to see a lot of the upcoming expansion, the game’s creative director Sam Lake will stream it tomorrow at 0:00 here.
