Developer IO Interactive has announced that Hitman 3 will be a timed launch exclusive for the Epic Games Store on PC.

Hitman 3 was initially revealed during the PS5 live stream event in June 2020, where it was announced that the game would be coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in January 2021.

Speaking with Gematsu, IO Interactive Hakan Abrak said:

“As an independent studio, our partnership with Epic has given us the freedom to create Hitman 3 exactly as we imagined and self-publish the game to our players directly.”

PC players will be able to carry over their current progression and save data from Hitman 2 on Steam into Hitman 3 on the Epic Games Store, along with the ability to import locations from the previous two games.

Abrak added:

“For the long-term fans that have supported us on the World of Assassination journey, we’re happy to have mastery and location carry over from their existing progress into Hitman 3 on Epic Games Store.”

Hitman Game of the Year Edition will also be available for free via the Epic Games Store from 27 August to 3 September 2020.

Last but not least, IO Interactive has released a new trailer for Hitman 3‘s second location: “Dartmoor” in England.
