Stephen King’s The Stand Gets A Chilling Teaser Trailer
By Alleef Ashaari|September 1, 2020|0 Comment
CBS All Access has finally revealed a premiere date and a teaser trailer for its upcoming miniseries adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand. The first episode will debut on the streaming service on 17 December 2020.
New episodes of The Stand will continue to air weekly every subsequent Thursday, with nine episodes in total.
The Stand stars Whoopi Goldberg as Mother Abigail and Alexander Skarsgård as Randall Flagg.
The setting of the book is essentially in a post-apocalyptic world decimated by a plague with the remnants of humanity forced into a struggle between good and evil.
The fate of mankind rests on the frail shoulders of the 108-year-old Mother Abigail and a handful of survivors. Their worst nightmares are embodied by a man with a lethal smile and unspeakable powers named Randall Flagg; the nefarious Dark Man. After a superflu nicknamed Captain Trips wipes out 98 percent of humanity in The Stand, the survivors rally around either Abigail or Flagg.
With the world still facing an ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the release of The Stand will never be more timely.
The series’ cast also includes:
The New Mutants director Josh Boone serves as an executive producer and directed the series premiere and finale episodes, while Taylor Elmore is serving as showrunner alongside Ben Cavell.
