The first season of Pennyworth concluded its 10-episode run in September 2019. It was surprisingly good for a series that focused on Alfred’s younger days, but a Season 2 is already confirmed.

During the Pennyworth panel at DC FanDome, executive producer Bruno Heller (who was also the showrunner for the Gotham TV series) revealed that Martha Kane (Emma Paetz) will be pregnant in the upcoming Season 2.

However, at this point in time, Martha has yet to marry Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge), so it remains to be seen in if this baby will indeed turn out to be Bruce Wayne AKA the future Batman.

Heller also confirmed that fan-favourite character Lucius Fox will be making his debut in Season 2, though they have yet to officially cast an actor in the role. There will be a time skip at the beginning of Season 2, which takes place one year after the events of the Season 1 finale.

Pennyworth Season 2 will feature the return of stars Jack Bannon as Alfred Pennyworth, Hainsley Lloyd Bennett, Ryan Fletcher, Dorothy Atkinson, Polly Walker, Paloma Faith and Jason Flemyng. They will be joined as new series regulars James Purefoy, Edward Hogg, Jessye Romeo, Ramon Tikaram and Harriet Slater.

No release date or window has been announced for Pennyworth Season 2, especially considering that production has only recently resumed after stopping since March 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
