The Boys Is Getting A Spinoff Series

Amazon’s superhero deconstruction series The Boys is getting a spinoff set in superhero college. According to Deadline, the project is written by The Boys executive producer Craig Rosenberg and have already been in the works for a while now.

The Boys spinoff series is being fast-tracked thanks to the success of The Boys Season 2, which has broken the record for the most-watched global launch of an Amazon Original series ever. In its first two weeks, Season 2 has nearly doubled the Season 1 worldwide audience (more than 89 percent).

The setting for the new The Boys spinoff series will be at America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes, run by Vought International.

It is described as an:

“…irreverent R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities.

Part college show, part Hunger Games — with all the heart, satire and raunch of The Boys.”

Rosenberg himself is writing the pilot and will serve as executive producer/showrunner. Other executive producers include The Boys developer/executive producer Eric Kripke and fellow The Boys executive producers Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver; as well as Original Film’s Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty.

The Boys Season 2 is now available on the Amazon Prime Video streaming service, with subsequent episodes premiering every Friday. In the meantime, you can check out my spoiler-free review of the first three episodes of The Boys Season 2 here.
