Streets of Rage 4 Gets Huge Balance Patch From Axel Buffs To Combo Counters Upgrade
By Jonathan ToyadVerified|September 7, 2020|0 Comment
If you’ve tapped out all the goodness and fighting in this year’s best beat-em-up, Streets of Rage 4, this new update from Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games will make you want to replay the game a bit more.
Long story short, the update improves online with less latency and more stability, gives balance improvements for all main characters, made major gameplay improvements, and the usual bug fixes. Notable changes include:
–Combo counters stay alive when hitting shields or guards. This means you can hit the policeman’s shield and still keep your counter alive. Also, combo bonuses do not have a point limit now.Â
-Axel’s buffs. He now has faster movespeed, has on the ground properties for his Grand Upper (meaning you can launch downed enemies with this blitz move), has his defensive cost lowered, and more. He should fare better now as a “main” character.
-Floyd’s infinite is removed, so speedrunners will need to find a way to get around this.
-The game’s bosses get some nerfs like the ever-annoying Commissioners, but Mr and Ms. Y are significantly tougher this time around. Mr Y evades more, while Ms. Y’s elite shadow reinforcements will appear in her debut fight. Also, they hang around longer before the robot appears in the final battle.
-Steam hazards hitbox reduced.
-Galsia’s weapon hitbox nerfed. Praise the lord.
