Superman & Batwoman Are Getting New Suits Next Season

Batwoman is getting a new lead next season as Javicia Leslie replaces Ruby Rose as the titular member of the Bat-family with new character Ryan Wilder, while CW’s Superman, Tyler Hoechlin, will finally be getting his own show with the first season of Superman & Lois.
During the panels for both shows at DC FanDome, it was revealed by that both Batwoman and Superman will be receiving new suits in the upcoming seasons of the respective shows. However, these new costumes were not actually shown.
Batwoman showrunner Caroline Dries offered a little bit of insight into what fans should expect:
“It’s going to be a little bit of an evolution, we’re going to see the suit evolve early on in the season.
Ryan is like, ‘For me to feel empowered in this thing, it needs to feel like I’m representing something that I’m fighting for.'”
Batwoman actress Leslie herself added:
“Caroline [and I] were also talking about how important it is that if we’re going to have a Black Batwoman that she needs to be a sister when she becomes Batwoman.
It’s important for the silhouette of her to still look like that: more of a natural texture hair and things like that.”
Meanwhile, Superman & Lois executive producer Todd Helbing described the new CE show as “a story that is really as grounded as it can possibly be to have Superman in it” and that the new suit is “really badass”.
While not much was revealed about both shows (no release date or window as of yet), at least fans can look forward to brand new updated suits for these two iconic DC Comics characters when they return in new seasons sometime in 2021.
