The Best Video Games Of This Console Generation (Late 2013-2020)

#4. Undertale (2015)

Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch
Genre: Indie

While it’s hard to go into this game without any expectations, given its many acclaims, you should attempt to do so. Undertale is an indie darling for a huge reason: it’s an adventure game masquerading as a JRPG and an ode to RPG Earthbound, but opens up further and deeper once you’re hooked.

To spoil the game’s premise, twists, and payoffs would do its creator Toby Fox and the entire game a huge disservice. But all we can say is that if we were able to give this indie title a 100/100, we would.

In fact, we’ll do it now because it’s just so damn sublime and game-changing.

Final Score: 100/100

The only cons I can think of is its hardcore fanbase. You know, the ones back then that tell you not to play this game a certain way. Those gatekeepers can go die in a fire.

Next: “Cheers, love. The cavalry’s here!”
