The Best Video Games Of This Console Generation (Late 2013-2020)

It’s close to the end of this video game console generation, what with the Xbox Series X/S and the PlayStation 5 so close to being out on retail. That’s more or less 7 years since the Xbox One and PS4 has been out, right? Oh, and also the Nintendo Switch entering the fray mid-game.

So between late 2013 until now, we had a ton of games out and consumed. Among these, there was a fraction of them that were, and still are, considered masterpieces. These select few that transcend beyond its medium and offer transformative gaming experiences. Games that rise beyond their scope and just be memorable overall.

In no particular order, here are our 10 picks in masterclass game design, presentation, and overall interactive fun. In the interest of fairness, we’ll be limiting genres and their respective subgenres for our 10 picks.
