Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2’s development might be looking rocky. First, it lost its lead writer Brian Mitsoda and creative director Ka’ai Cluney. Now it has lost its senior narrative designer Cara Ellison.
The former journalist for PC Gamer and Rock, Paper, Shotgun is no longer with the game developer Hardsuit Labs. She is now a senior narrative designer for developer League of Geeks, the makers of Armello.
Meet Cara (@caraellison), our wonderful senior narrative designer! 🎉🌈
She 😍's cooking, cute hamsters, post-punk/new wave, & all of the beautiful Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
She 😒's planes, international borders, & the extreme speed of the onward march of time. pic.twitter.com/ORNSbbIWVu

Here’s the official statement from publisher Paradox Interactive (via PC Gamer).
“We can confirm that Cara Ellison has decided to leave Hardsuit Labs and is no longer working on Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. Cara brought fresh ideas to the project and many of her contributions will be present in the game launching next year. We thank her for her work on Bloodlines 2 and wish her the best in all of her future endeavours.”
Keep in mind that the game was delayed to 2021 from its original end of the year release period, so this could be more than just a simple case of narrative designers leaving after they’re done with story bits in a project.
