Remember the Xbox One/PC exclusive third-person shooter Gears 5? The shooter that ditched “of War” from its title for shorthand marketing reasons? If you’re still playing it, then you probably heard that there’s going to be new content a-coming.
Gears 5 developer The Coalition (consisting of ex-Epic Games & Gears staff members) is getting a significant update later this year. These include a new game+ for its campaign featuring WWE’s Batista as a guest character, versus changes in Operation 5, and a story DLC called Hivebusters. This DLC will also add in more visual overhauls (for the Xbox Series X/S versions) to make it as humanly pretty as possible. As shiny as a post-apocalyptic Locusts-filled sci-fi future can get.
On a related note, here are the new features that are coming on 10th November.
- Two new difficulty modes (Ironman and Inconceivable)
- Character Skins for Kait, Del, and JD
- Weapon Skins
- Jack upgrades carry over
- Mutators (Big head mode, etc)
- New achievements
Gears 5 is available now. It’s pretty fun if you’re into cover-based shooters and multiplayer.
