Songbird Movie Trailer Shows Hypothetical Fourth Year Of Pandemic

We’re nearing the one-year anniversary of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in the real world, and the truth is that no one knows how long it’ll be going on for. This new movie by director Adam Manson and producer Michael Bay is going to explore what a hypothetical fourth year of an ongoing COVID-19 pandemic would be like.
Songbird is set in 2024, where a mutated and deadlier strand of the virus called COVID-23 has forced infected Americans to be ripped from their homes and forced into quarantine camps known as Q-Zones.
Amid this dystopian landscape, a fearless courier, Nico (KJ Apa), who’s immune to the deadly pathogen, finds hope and love with Sara (Sofia Carson), though her lockdown prohibits them from physical contact.
When Sara is believed to have become infected, Nico races desperately across the barren streets of Los Angeles in search of the only thing that can save her from imprisonment.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Manson said:
“It’s a dystopian, scary world, but it’s a romantic movie about two people who want to be together, but they can’t.
It’s Romeo and Juliet, but they’re separated by her front door and by the virus.â€
Songbird also boasts an impressive cast, including the following:
However, Songbird doesn’t have a release date at the time of writing. It might even be a bit too distasteful for the movie to be released too soon, since the setting of the movie may hit too close to home for many people who have been affected by the real COVID-19 pandemic.
