Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales Addresses Peter Parker’s Absence, Ganke’s Role & More
By Alleef Ashaari|October 21, 2020|0 Comment
Insomniac Games has revealed why Peter Parker won’t be in Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales.
In an interview with Game Informer, Insomniac Games creative director Brian Horton said that shortly after the beginning of the game where both Spider-Men fight Rhino, Peter informs Miles that he’ll be leaving for a few weeks on a photographing job in Symkaria with Mary Jane.
However, he won’t be leaving Miles with nothing. Players can look forward to Training Challenges around the city which were left for Miles by Peter.
The interview also revealed that Miles’ best friend, Ganke Lee, will not only have a story impact but also play a role in gameplay as well. According to Horton, Ganke will create an app for Miles that’s integrated into his suit, allowing people around New York City to report crimes and problems for Miles to help with.
However, he also clarified that players will be playing as Miles Morales “100 percent of the time” in the game.
In addition, New York City’s Harlem will be more detailed, with multicultural elements and more murals for players to admire. There will also be sound-related collectibles scattered throughout the city, though it’s currently unclear what they will exactly be (discs or pieces of music?).
The premise of the story is that Roxxon will be invading Harlem with what they claim to be a clean new energy source called Newform. The Underground (which is like a new tech-based criminal organization) will be disrupting Roxxon’s operations, and Harlem will be caught in the middle of this conflict. Supervillain The Tinkerer will be the leader of the Underground.
Last but not least, there will be no loading screens in the PS5 version of the game, even for fast travel or after deaths.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is slated to release for the PS4 and PS5 on 12 November 2020. It is now open for pre-orders on the PS4 (check out all the details here).
