Neon Genesis Evangelion Will Be Taking Over Tokyo Skytree This December
Just like with Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy VII, a cultural milestone in Japan pop culture will be taking over the Tokyo Skytree Tower in Japan later this year. In this case, it’s the mecha drama series Neon Genesis Evangelion.
The anime will be on display in the Tokyo Skytree Tower starting 23rd December (via Dengeki) and will end on 31st March 2021. This event will be coinciding with the release of the upcoming film Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0, which is slated for a 23rd January 2021 release in Japan.
The Skytree exhibition itself will show off the world of Evangelion (mechas, loading bays, domiciles, Angels, etc.) and photo spots for guests to take pictures at. The exhibition will also feature a limited-time merchandise listing and cafe menu.
More info will be available on the official site later this year. Let’s hope that the current worldwide pandemic is given the ol’ Third Impact because I’m sure there’s a boatload of anime fans outside of Japan who want to check this possible beauty of an exhibition out!
