Batman Soul Of The Dragon Trailer Teases 70s Kung Fu Fury
By Alleef AshaariVerified|November 18, 2020|0 Comment
The first funky trailer for Batman Soul Of The Dragon has arrived. It is set to be the first DC Comics animated movie to premiere next year; 12 January 2021 on Digital and 26 January 2021 on Blu-Ray.
The R-rated animated movie is an Elseworlds story set in the 1970s, featuring kung fu action galore. It’s not based on anything from the comics, so it will be interesting to see what kind of kung fu shenanigans Batman will get into.
The Dark Knight (voiced by Grimm star David Giuntoli) will team up with Ben Turner/Bronze Tiger (Arrow star Michael Jai White reprising his live-action role) Richard Dragon (Mark Dacascos), and Lady Shiva (Kelly Hu) under the tutelage of O-Sensei (James Hong).
The voice cast also boasts Josh Keaton as Jeffrey Burr, alongside Grey Griffin, Chris Cox, Erica Luttrell, Robin Atkin Downes, Patrick Seitz, Jamie Chung, and Eric Bauza.
The official synopsis reads:
“Set in the midst of the swinging 1970s, this Elseworlds adventure finds Bruce Wayne training under a master sensei.
It is here that Bruce, along with other elite students, is forged in the fire of the martial arts discipline.
The lifelong bonds they form will be put to the test when a deadly menace arises from their past.
It will take the combined efforts of Batman, world-renowned martial artists Richard Dragon, Ben Turner, and Lady Shiva and their mentor O-Sensei to battle the monsters of this world and beyond!”
It sounds like something from those classic martial arts films. It will be directed by Sam Liu, and executive produced by the legendary Bruce Timm of Batman The Animated Series fame, amongst others.
Batman Soul Of The Dragon is only one of several exciting DC Comics animated movies coming in 2021, including a Batman The Long Halloween adaptation and a Justice Society World War II movie.
