Warner Bros has unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming Tom And Jerry movie, which blends a mix of 2D and 3D animation into a live-action setting.
Thankfully, both Tom and Jerry still look like themselves and not CGI monstrosities. Growing up with them as a kid, I’m happy that they still look a lot like their classic 2D versions from the cartoons.
The Tom And Jerry movie stars Chloë Grace Moretz of Kick-Ass’ Hit-Girl fame, Michael Peña (Ant-Man), Rob Delaney (Deadpool 2), Colin Jost (How To Be Single), and Ken Jeong (The Hangover, Community).
It is directed by Tim Story, best known for directing 2005’s Fantastic Four and 2007’s Fantastic Four Rise Of The Silver Surfer.
The official synopsis reads:
One of the most beloved rivalries in history is reignited when Jerry moves into New York City’s finest hotel on the eve of “the wedding of the century,” forcing the event’s desperate planner to hire Tom to get rid of him, in director Tim Story’s “Tom & Jerry.”
The ensuing cat and mouse battle threatens to destroy her career, the wedding and possibly the hotel itself.
But soon, an even bigger problem arises: a diabolically ambitious staffer conspiring against all three of them.
Tom And Jerry is slated to premiere sometime in 2021. In the meantime, check out the trailer below:
