HBO’s The Last Of Us Gets Series Order
By Alleef Ashaari|November 21, 2020|0 Comment
HBO has given a series order to their The Last Of Us live-action TV series adaptation, which will be written and executive produced by Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin and the original game director Neil Druckmann.
It will be co-produced by Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, Word Games, and Naughty Dog.
HBO executive vice president of programming Francesca Ori said (via Deadline):
“Craig and Neil are visionaries in a league of their own.
With them at the helm alongside the incomparable Carolyn Strauss, this series is sure to resonate with both die-hard fans of The Last of Us games and newcomers to this genre-defining saga.
We’re delighted to partner with Naughty Dog, Word Games, Sony and PlayStation to adapt this epic, powerfully immersive story.â€
The Last Of Us TV series will focus on the events of the original The Last Of Us game, according to the official synopsis, which reads:
“The story takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone.
What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse across the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.â€
HBO’s The Last Of Us will be available on both the HBO channel and HBO Max.
