The World Ends With You Anime Will Challenge Death April 2021

The previously-announced The World Ends With You anime finally has a more definitive release window, thanks to a brand new epic trailer. The new trailer also features a preview of the anime’s opening song; ‘TEENAGE RIOT’ by ALI.

The focus is on protagonists Neku and Shiki in the new The World Ends With You trailer, as they find themselves embroiled in the Reapers’ Game, where they have to survive the challenges or die in seven days.

We also get a glimpse of other supporting characters like Joshua and Sho.

For those who don’t know, The World Ends With You was originally an action JRPG game that launched for the Nintendo DS in 2007. It was ported to Android and iOS devices in 2012, before receiving an enhanced port for the Nintendo Switch in 2018, dubbed The World Ends With You Final Remix.

The World Ends With You is also notable for being featured as a playable world to explore in Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, which was no surprise considering that Tetsuya Nomura is involved with both franchises.

Meanwhile, we still have that other The World Ends With You-related countdown website, which ends its countdown timer tonight at 12am GMT+8 on 24 November 2020.

Stay tuned for what that might turn out to be.
