The Expanse Renewed For A Sixth & Final Season

Amazon Studios has renewed science fiction series The Expanse for a sixth and final season. This news comes just weeks before the upcoming premiere of The Expanse Season 5 on 16 December 2020.

In a statement (via Deadline), showrunner Naren Shankar said:

“The dedication and artistry of everyone who helps bring The Expanse to the screen is incredible.

Our fans are awesome, and we cannot wait to get rolling on season six.”

Unfortunately, one cast member, Cas Anvar (who portrays Alex Kamal, pilot of the Rocinante), won’t be returning in The Expanse Season 6, due to ongoing sexual misconduct allegations.

The Expanse Season 6 is slated to begin production sometime in January 2021.

Just like The Boys Season 2, The Expanse Season 5 will release the first three episodes of its total ten-episode season on premiere day and will then debut on a weekly basis for subsequent episodes.
