Galactus Is Descending Into Fortnite This December
By Alleef Ashaari|November 23, 2020|1 Comment
Fortnite Season 4 has seen the Marvel Universe crossing over into battle royale game via the Nexus War event since August 2020. All that epicness will culminate in the arrival of none other than iconic Marvel supervillain, Galactus.
According to Epic Games, Galactus will arrive in Fortnite on 2 December 2020 at 5am GMT+8. All you need to do to ensure that you’ll experience Galactus’ coming is to have the latest Fortnite 14.60 update downloaded on your platform of choice.
However, no further details were revealed. It’s possible to expect that Galactus will likely come and destroy the current Fortnite Season 4 map, thus heralding the beginning of Fortnite Season 5, whatever that turns out to be.
On the official This Week in Marvel podcast, Epic Games Worldwide Creative Director head Donald Mustard said about Galactus and the Fortnite Nexus War event:
“The reason we called this season Nexus War is that this is just the start of lots of stuff we have planned for many years of Marvel integration.
This is not the end, this is the beginning.
We thought a really good POV-style character which could set this up [earlier this year] was Deadpool, kind of fourth-wall-breaking. And then Cap in July, building up to this moment…
We had this moment in Fortnite which happened around a year ago where… the Zero Point reorganised all the matter around the island and kind of created this new island.
That’s the moment that attracted Galactus.
[He] felt this re-organising of reality and was like ‘huh, there’s this energy source at the centre of everything and if I can consume that, I can consume not just the Marvel reality but I can consume everything.'”
