The Prince Of Persia Sands Of Time Remake Has Been Delayed

The Prince Of Persia Sands Of Time Remake was initially announced during the Ubisoft Forward showcase in July 2020. Developed by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, it was supposed to release for the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Ubisoft Store and Epic Games Store on 21 January 2021.

However, Ubisoft has announced that the game has been delayed to 18 March 2021 in a post on Facebook earlier tonight.

According to Google Translate, the Ubisoft statement reads:

Greetings, Prince of Persia fans!

During our Ubisoft Forward digital conference, we proudly announced Prince’s return from Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake.

We are excited to be able to put this game in your hands again as we retell the story of Prince and Farah in the amazing 11th century Persia.

However, 2020 was a year like no other. Today we would like to inform you that we need more time to complete the game.

With that, the release date of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been moved to March 18, 2021.

We believe this is the right decision to ensure we deliver a game you enjoy.

Thank you for your patience and continued support of the Prince of Persia, and we hope you remain safe and healthy during this holiday season.

—The Development Team

Camera, controls, and combat have been completely rebuilt and updated for today’s standards. Players can choose between the original or modernized mapping. Other details include:

  • Overhauled camera.
  • Combat improvements.
  • Additional conversations between the Prince and Farah that were cut from the original.
  • Smoother parkour animations.
  • Re-recorded dialogue, and a new cast.

Players can also unlock the original Prince Of Persia game from 1989 (’92 Mac version) in the game and then access it from the main menu.
